Frozen Cosmopolitan
A frozen take on the pink classic: citrus vodka, cranberry, orange liqueur and lime blended into a tangy slush.
- 5 min prep
- 2 drinks
- Martini glass or coupe
The Cosmopolitan is crisp and tart, which makes it a natural fit for a frozen drink. Cranberry juice gives it color and bite, while orange liqueur adds a soft citrus sweetness.
A handful of frozen cranberries in the blender gives it more body and a deeper pink color.
Frozen Cosmopolitan

- 3 oz citrus vodka

- 3 oz cranberry juice cocktail
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- ½ cup frozen cranberries (optional)
- 2½ cups ice cubes
Instructions
- Add the vodka, orange liqueur, cranberry juice and lime juice to the blender.
- Add the cranberries and ice.
- Blend on high for 40 seconds.
- Pour into chilled martini glasses or coupes and garnish with an orange twist.
Garnish: Orange twist
Glass: Martini glass or coupe
Tips for the best texture
- If you use the cranberries, add ½ oz simple syrup to balance their tartness.

Try a twist
Make it a holiday cosmo with a sugared-cranberry garnish and a rosemary sprig.
Blender, frozen drink maker or slush machine?
These amounts are written for a standard countertop blender. In an ice-shaving frozen drink maker, put the ice in the hopper and the liquids and any fruit in the jar, then run a full cycle. In a home slush machine, which freezes the drink itself, leave out the ice, replace it with about 1 cup of cold water or juice, and pour the mixed liquid into the bowl.
