Frozen Hemingway Daiquiri
A tart, low-sugar frozen daiquiri with rum, grapefruit, lime and maraschino liqueur, inspired by Havana's famous bar.
- 5 min prep
- 2 drinks

Legend has it a certain American novelist wanted his daiquiris with more rum and no sugar. The bar's answer used grapefruit juice and a little maraschino liqueur, and a classic was born.
Our frozen take adds just enough syrup to keep it pleasant to the modern palate.

Try a twist
Use pink grapefruit for a blush-colored version.
Blender, frozen drink maker or slush machine?
These amounts are written for a standard countertop blender. In an ice-shaving frozen drink maker, put the ice in the hopper and the liquids and any fruit in the jar, then run a full cycle. In a home slush machine, which freezes the drink itself, leave out the ice, replace it with about 1 cup of cold water or juice, and pour the mixed liquid into the bowl.
