Frozen Strawberry Banana Daiquiri
Smoothie-thick frozen daiquiri with strawberries, ripe banana, rum and lime.
- 5 min prep
- 2 drinks
- Tall glass
Adding a banana to a strawberry daiquiri does something great to the texture: it turns an icy slush into something closer to a soft-serve smoothie. It's also a good use for the brown-spotted banana on the counter.
Peel and freeze ripe bananas in chunks and you'll always be one minute away from this drink.
Frozen Strawberry Banana Daiquiri
Ingredients (2 drinks)
- 3 oz white or light rum
- 1 oz banana liqueur (optional)
- 1½ oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 ripe banana, sliced (fresh or frozen)
- 1½ cups ice cubes
Instructions
- Add the rum, banana liqueur, lime juice and syrup to the blender.
- Add the strawberries, banana and ice.
- Blend on high for about 45 seconds until thick and smooth.
- Pour into two tall glasses and garnish with banana and strawberry on a pick.
Garnish: Banana slice and strawberry on a cocktail pick
Glass: Tall glass
Tips for the best texture
- The riper the banana, the sweeter the drink; reduce the syrup if the banana is very spotty.
- Without the banana liqueur, add another ½ oz rum.
Try a twist
Add ½ cup vanilla ice cream for a boozy strawberry-banana shake.
Blender, frozen drink maker or slush machine?
These amounts are written for a standard countertop blender. In an ice-shaving frozen drink maker, put the ice in the hopper and the liquids and any fruit in the jar, then run a full cycle. In a home slush machine, which freezes the drink itself, leave out the ice, replace it with about 1 cup of cold water or juice, and pour the mixed liquid into the bowl.
