Peach Ginger Margarita
Frozen peaches, tequila and a kick of ginger blended into a warm-and-cool summer margarita.
- 5 min prep
- 2 drinks
- Margarita glass
Ripe peach is soft and sweet; ginger is sharp and spicy. Together in a frozen margarita they balance each other like a good duet.
Fresh ginger gives the cleanest heat, but ginger syrup works if that's what you have on hand.
Peach Ginger Margarita
Ingredients (2 drinks)
- 3 oz blanco tequila
- 1 oz orange liqueur
- 1½ oz fresh lime juice
- ¾ oz ginger syrup (or 1 tsp grated fresh ginger + ¾ oz simple syrup)
- 2 cups frozen peach slices
- 1 cup ice cubes
Instructions
- Blend the tequila, liqueur, lime and ginger for a few seconds to spread the ginger through the liquid.
- Add the frozen peaches and ice.
- Run on high for 45 seconds, pushing the fruit down once if it bridges.
- Pour and garnish with a peach slice and candied ginger.
Garnish: Peach slice and a piece of candied ginger
Glass: Margarita glass
Tips for the best texture
- Peel fresh ginger with the edge of a spoon; it's faster than a knife.
- Splash ginger beer on top of each glass for extra fizz and bite.
Try a twist
Swap tequila for bourbon for a peach-ginger whiskey slush.
Blender, frozen drink maker or slush machine?
These amounts are written for a standard countertop blender. In an ice-shaving frozen drink maker, put the ice in the hopper and the liquids and any fruit in the jar, then run a full cycle. In a home slush machine, which freezes the drink itself, leave out the ice, replace it with about 1 cup of cold water or juice, and pour the mixed liquid into the bowl.
